    i have received notice from council that my account has been passed to bailiff can i get in touch with bailiff to arrange payment plan to stop visit to premises which will include large walk in fees is there a way to avoid the visit?

    The only way to prevent a visit is to pay in full to the Council before any visit is made. Is your business open to the public whereby anyone can walk in off the street?

      yes my business is open to public anyone can walk in i have recently paid off bailiffs for previous business rates 600 pounds outstanding i received letter hand delivered but i was not there in person the sum off 900 pounds was required 225 pounds for walking in fee he left an inventory off goods but i have not signed document can he charge that amount and legally take goods if i question amount charged? ihave 1 payment left to pay150 can i hold that back ?

        Even if you dispute what is owed do not withhold it. Easier to pay first and reclaim later. Have you asked for a breakdown of the fees they are charging? If not use Letter 1 from the Useful Letters Sticky.
