The fees charged and the reasons why are only spoiled by one thing - they do not start with "Once upon a time".

    Have you challenged their levy?

Challenge the levy and see what carp Screwlyn come back with, a pack of lies and waffle about Observer v Gordon, and how you would be liable to the real owner as the bailiff acted in good faith, blah blah blady blah along with other Lies and Claptrap.

Bottom line is any levy on a car or goods not owned by you is unlawful and the fees must be removed.

Thanks. I have challenged all the fees that happened on the 6th January, although the first and second visit I believe didn't happen as well, but I just have to accept it as I can't prove it. Newlyn won't give me the details of what they have levied on. I have phoned and asked but they couldn't say and even when i requested in writing they still didn't. I only know as it was the council that told me. I have gone straight to the head of recoveries at Watford Council but still has not come back to me. When I ring he seems to either be away or in a meeting. If I still don't get a response by next week I plan to take it higher than him. I have also started paying off my balance to Watford directly. Newlyn have taken money to cover the first and second visit fee and the £50 i paid them earlier this month. I refuse to pay them anymore.

My view of what you is that Newlyn are now being obstructive - probably because they know they are in the wrong. If the Head of Recoveries is dragging his heels then that seems to suggest he has passed everything to Newlyns for comment - and of course they don't criticise themselves. You seem to be now armed with enough to make a Formal Complaint to the Council CEO about how this is being handled, copies should be given to your local Councillor(s).

It was their usual blend of disingenuity and playing at Silly Buggers.

Or that he has a severe case of cephalo-proctal intromission?

Perhaps you should send him a jar of petroleum jelly?

I was going to say they were being obnoxious originally - but then thought that is normal anyway.
