  • old private parking ticket

Hi all, apx 12 months ago my partner received a ticket at berkeley precinct in sheffield which is a free but controlled car park for parking out of the bay it was dark at the time and car park pretty much empty, we ignored all letters none of which included any pictures of said offence as advised on other forums and have now started receiving letters and calls from rossendale debt collection. What are my legal rights and should we ignore these also, I dont want my wife to be in if they call as they may trick or force their way in? Please help I want to nip this in the bud asap to stop any distress. surely they can't issue tickets as there is no loss of earnings for said company, we were literally 15 mins in the store before coming out and finding the ticket. Thanks in advance. would love a step by step action plan.

Post over on the private parking ticket section on pepipoo forums - remove all identifying details from your letters and post them up over there. They are really good over there, although you might get a "telling off" for following old advice. Take it on the chin though and do what they say.

Debt collectors have no power to enter your house - make sure your wife knows - and keep doors/windows shut and LOCKED. The debt collector peoples WILL tell porkies about their powers.

They won't call at your front door. There is no debt. An unpaid invoice.

      Was it before Oct 1st 2012 ?

No court win for them, no bailiffs.

Contact the store with proof of purchase complaining long and hard. If you can do not continue to patronise this shop until and if they cancel this charge.

Is the registered keeper the one being chased ?
