I have/ had some council tax debts, which were passed on to Jacobs, there were 4 in total. I did let the bailiff in and he checked some of my stuff and wrote them down on some paper. We agreed a payment plan of £80 a month I signed and then he was gone. I have Aspergers syndrome and I hate being a round people. So I signed it without reading it, which was a mistake as when the letter came confirming the payments it had gone upto £160 a month. I phone them up and I was told that £160 a month is the minimum payment, so the bailiff would not have agreed to £80. They also said the council has a time limit on when it has to be payed and thats why £160 is the minimum payment. I told them that O could not afford that, and the reply was to let the bailiffs take my stuff then.
Noe 3 of the debts have been paid and I made a payment today, only to be informed that another coucil tax debt had come in. Infact it was a month ago that they received it. I was asked if I wanted to sort there and then, but ad I am struggling to pay the £160 a month at the expense of my current council tax bill, I said I would lever it till later. She then said see would sent it on to the bailiffs. What would you advice that I do now as I really cannot afford to pay more a month.
