  • General baliffs question please

Sorry if this is in wrong place as new to forum.
If a none council tax/none Inland Revenue/None criminal fine bailiff comes to the house I have been told that you do not have to let them in. Does this also go for utilities such as water bill or electric were a meter is already present?
What happens if you do not let them in? Does it return back to court so you can make a payment arrangement?
I have lots of old debt from when I was very young and in an abusive marriage and some of it I do not even know about (things keep popping up) and I want to be prepared.

You may need to tell us more as for utility debts there are other options open including County Court Bailiff, HCEO or even the utility's own Warrant Officer.
