Re: housing benefit overpayment and equita
That is a difficult one to answer, Cloggy. All credit to the local authority involved for admitting they cocked up. Also, they withdrew instructions from Equita which would mitigate any liability that could be attached to them. I am doubtful the OP would have been able to extract any compensation from them.Originally posted by CleverClogs View PostHow much has the Council offered in compensation for the upset they caused?
DWP, on the other hand, are the ones who should pay compensation as what their employee did lead to the OP being interviewed under caution, accused of an alleged offence at law and to be subjected to harassment that was, as the evidence subsequently showed, unlawful. Sacking the employee involved would mitigate DWP's liability, yes, and admitting they were wrong would provide further mitigation, but absolving them of all and any liability, I very much doubt it. Obviously, if the OP is content to consider the matter closed, that is their choice.Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

As the extremely militant PCS is the union for DWP employees, if whoever cocked up was sacked, there would be strikes and allsorts from the union most likelyOriginally posted by bluebottle View PostThat is a difficult one to answer, Cloggy. Re: housing benefit overpayment and equita
Like any trade union, PCS has its fair share of hotheads. However, I found the more moderate members could be valuable allies and sources of information when I was a copper.Originally posted by bizzybob View PostAs the extremely militant PCS is the union for DWP employees, if whoever cocked up was sacked, there would be strikes and allsorts from the union most likelyLife is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

Re: housing benefit overpayment and equita
IDS is not for moving, he will have his unilateral wet dream of impoverishing most of the workforce and make them equal to benefit claimants, in income. He will introduce the Workhouse as live in worplaces where he can undercut Foxconn for the contract to manufacture the i-phone 10 for Apple.Originally posted by CleverClogs View PostMight that further impair the roll-out of "Universal Credit"?

Re: housing benefit overpayment and equita
Regarding overpayment recovery,i accept that overpayments where proved should be recovered nut in a fair way
!st Payback at a rate the claimant can afford
2nd The use of bailiffs and DCAs banned they just add to the distress not needed in a civilised society

In his (wet) dreams. Delusion is one step on the road to psychosis. Losing your grip on reality is a further step. IDS displays both these symptoms. All we need is for him to start displaying the Messiah Complex and then we will know, for certain, that he has well and truly lost the plot. Oh, sorry, guys. I've just realised that IDS has well and truly lost the plot already.:grin:Originally posted by bizzybob View PostIDS is not for moving, he will have his unilateral wet dream of impoverishing most of the workforce and make them equal to benefit claimants, in income. IDS needs sectioning into a secure mental health unit for our protection. He is a deluded tyrant equally as psychotic as the despot MugabeOriginally posted by bluebottle View PostIn his (wet) dreams.
