    Re: Bailiffs & Council Tax

as my furniture hasn't changed over the years yes it is quite often the same items on the last one 2012/13 they added my car, ok it is old but still.
Also forgot to mention the debt written as outstanding is including the fees, as the ct has been frozen the CT amount outstanding is £817.34 as above but on the letter it is £1096.34 which would include all the fees, but the only fees mentioned is 1st visit, 2nd visit walk possession & section H, with figures, then levy fee & reasonable costs for attendance of a removal vehicle. these are written as being in addition to the outstanding amount so it looks like they are trying to claim twice for the costs!!!!

I agree, PT. R & R don't exactly hold the prize for having a reputation beyond reproach. And their bailiffs seem to have a knack of having their certificates revoked without a Form 4 or a hearing.

No, you enclose a £10 postal order with the letter. I suspect you'll find they can accept payments in other ways!

Dependent on how it is phrased you don't need the account numbers as they are only dealing with a set person at a set address. Why do their work for them and it may go with you if they cock it up and you have to correct them

Thank you I have just read the letter just to clarify I take out the parragragh about no letter but leave in about being bullied into paying the money & take out about the paying of the money, as I haven't given them a penny for 2013/14 account, & then it all ok. I know I now sound a bit thick but just want to make sure its all correct

Ah. Bournemouth. It was Bournemouth & Poole County Court who revoked a R & R bailiff's certificate without a Form 4 or hearing during 2012. Let's see if R & R let their bailiffs behave so badly the court comes up trumps and revokes more certificates without a Form 4 certificate or hearing. Can't speak for Dorset Police and their attitude towards certificated bailiffs, but Hampshire Police don't take kindly to bailiffs who cross the line, as the one mentioned at the beginning of this post found out.

Have you checked to see if the attending Bailiff(s) are suitably Certificated?

                            Indeed.

Until now, the OP seems to have been paying nasally.

Yes, though they might experience difficulty with getting a foot in the door.

I expect it will only be a matter of time before a bailiff tries to charge for "attendance with a cherry-picker platform".
