  • Distress warrant

Hi all I am just wondering if any one can help me?
So I have had balliffs coming to my door now since December 2012 I have rang the fines office today and asked what sort of warrant it is and when it was issued the woman on the phone says it was issued on the 4th December 2012 which means it is 192days old. Can a baliff still enter my premises forcefully?

Did you know about the original fine? The warrant may have been extended for a further 90 days.

You have provided so little information that it is difficult to advise.

Bailiffs enforcing such warrants have in their contract a "warrant handling period" of 180 days ( 6 months) but they can simply ask the relevant court for permission to increase the time. This is always granted.

Instead of looking at ways in which to avoid the debt have need to ascertain whether the debt is valid.

      Did you go to court?

      Did you receive a summons?

      Did you enter a plea?

Did you complete a Means Enquiry Forms?

Did you make any payments to the court?

Did you receive a Further Steps Notice?
