Yes they all do except one there is also a fee for attendance with van it cost 90.00

Also bogus and inapplicable - with distress not having been levied on any goods, there would be nothing to remove that might require a "van".

but it was on same day 24th may its only on one of the orders though.

They've not overcharged as much as bailiffs often do. Their "levy fees" do not make arithmetical sense and they often charge nearly twice as much for "attendance to remove".

Sorry to bother you again but I will write to council as you say but can I ask should I continue to pay on the 28th of each month to Jacobs, Also because they haven't been into my house can they come back and do that levy thing and then charge me again. One last thing should I still keep all windows and door locked at all times. I thank you and am very grateful for all your help up to now.

I just meant that they had only charged me once for the van on one order they had not added van to all 5 i'm sorry if I am not very clear. as you can probably tell i'm also not very good with computers. But I am so grateful for all the help you are giving me.

That depends on how quickly you'd like to pay off your debt and how much you'd like to pay money to Jacobs for them to retain. Make no mistake about it - all payments to the bailiffs will first be used to pay their fees, even if some/most of those fees are inflated, improper or simply bogus.

As far as I can see, they have yet to "do that levy thing". Moreover, if they had levied goods for one liability order, the same goods could not be levied for any other liability order.

If it were me personally I would stop paying the Bailiff and pay the Council instead via online banking, Council website, automated phone or in person at the Council offices. I note you say they appear to be having difficulty allocating payments to anything but the current year - if you look at your bills do the reference numbers remain the same or are they different. At the end of the day it is for you to tell them which year it is allocated to and they must do as you say.

Paying the Council direct may well upset your newest mate but so what. Providing you deny him access to your home or prevent him gaining a levy on goods outside he will soon get bored and move on. Yes, you must keep everything in lockdown for the time being as a bailiff is entitled to enter a closed but unlocked door or an open window. I certainly wouldn't be overly concerned by them trying to add more charges when it appears they are bang to rights for the overcharging they have done so far.

As an aside you say there is no one else in the household are you claiming for Single person Discount on your CT?

a bailiff is entitled to enter a closed but unlocked door or an open window.

I believe they think they may also raise an unsecured window sash or open an unlatched casement window; even if they should not or even if case law suggests that is illegal, it would be a matter of their word against that of the debtor as to whether the window was open.

I certainly wouldn't be overly concerned by them trying to add more charges when it appears they are bang to rights for the overcharging they have done so far.

It would certainly be interesting to learn on how many doormats or cars belonging to other people the bailiffs have sought to levy distress.

Can they levy on the car that is insured for me to drive. It is on mobility for a disabled lady that I look after. Should I keep it outside her house across road and not in front of mine.

By "on mobility", do you mean it is leased to her under the Motability scheme, or is being purchased under the Motability Hire Purchase scheme? If either of those is true, then the vehicle still belongs to Motability; it does not belong to her and it (obviously) is unlikely ever to belong to you.

Unfortunately, bailiffs in general (and Jacobs bailiffs in particular) do like to levy distress on any motor car they see near a debtor's residence, regardless of who might actually own it.

I did it just in case. Yes its under Motability scheme and goes back after three years. All windows and doors locked. One good thing he does not like my dog its a Dogue De Bordeaux and stands in window which may be why he did not levy through window. Even though I did not know they could

If you mean performing what is known as a constructive levy by listing items they can see through a closed and secured window, they can't claim that to be a valid levy.
