It would be just tickety boo on a party invite, wait a minute aren't they hinting at a party of sorts, a clear out OPs house type party?

    Go get em Celestine.
Thank you, BB. My local authority uses Arial. The font shown on the letter the OP received, I can confirm, is Comic Sans. Lucida is nothing like it. I ran a printing and publishing company for a while after I retired from the police and have been involved in Graphic Design for over 20 years.

You may have been involved in Graphic Design for 20+ years and run a printing and publishing company, but as I said before, it is not Comic Sans, sorry.

Yes I recognised it also as Comic Sans, and was amazed by the incongruity of Newlyn using it on something so serious as threats of BR and committal that were disproportionate to the situation.

I agree it definitely not Comic Sans. The lines are too straight. Comic Sans has slight wobbles in the lines which lends informality to the text.
            http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comic_Sans
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

In Comic Sans the letter 'a' is totally different being like an 'o' with a stick down the right. Very few fonts have this 'a' (an 'a' like the one in Watsons at the bottom of the above post). Also in Comic Sans the 'e' instead of having the straight line across and a semi-circle on top, the line slopes up. Thus I believe it not to be Comic Sans, far be it for me to disagree with all the experience, but ...... :beagle:

Just remember that one font can have a number of different names. For example, Helvetica is also known as Swiss. It depends on who releases a font onto the market. Many digital font publishers will often copy a font, but give it a different name to the original font to get around copyright.

I think its important that we keep investigating this overly cosy relationship.

Still, I bet the Councils Finance Director responsible for that contract is having a large dose of Valium this evening after a stressful day explaining why his/her management of a lucrative contract was so poor.
