I just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all you lovely legal beagles that helped me out with my war with phoenix! Today I have received a cheque from them refunding most of the unlawful fees they claimed. still slightly short of what I said they owed me but still greatly received. I wouldn't have been able to do it without u lot. Although they are still claiming they are in the right!!! xx

Well done. Did you report the rats to OFT Credit Fitness Team? If not, do so now and mention that they refunded unlawful fees. OFT will like that not.

No, but I did send that letter to the head of revenues at the council!

These bloody b******s don't give up do they!!!! I've come today to a final demand for....guess what....the amount they've just refunded me for saying if I don't pay it they are applying for an arrest warrant!!!! What the bloody hell are these people on!!!!??

Send a copy to the Head of Revenues and suggest that, to avoid escalation of your complaint to the council CEO and/or the Local Government Ombudsman, he might wish to send a notice under Article 70(b) - link - of the Local Authorities (Contracting Out of Tax Billing, Collection and Enforcement Functions) Order 1996.

One can only assume they're on crack, as they cannot apply for an arrest warrant.

So they refunded the fees, and are now under the delusion THEY can apply for an arrest warrant to get them back off you again? Priceless, send complaint to MP

If it were me I would go to the media with this one, hold out for a full refund of all charges, plus interest and distress!
