Is that saying what I think it is? You have sympathy for honest bailiffs who turn dishonest?

      Re: Marstons!

I am sorry but I have had recent dealigs with a bailiff and a CEO and have found both to be dishonest to say the least, not to mention aggressive, patronising and nasty peices of work! (and that is restrained!)

Sadly that is the experience of many, and it is exactly why we do what we do here, usually with successful outcomes for the posters.

I have to admit,,it never dawned on me that bailiffs would work on a commission only basis..
(NOT that it has a bearing on disgusting behaviour of a good few of them)
I don't know what the answer is,,I just wish something, anything, would happen to make them ALL behave.

            Yes.

Perhaps it is due to my upbringing, but I cannot avoid feeling some measure of sympathy or pity for any person who, despite their desire to remain honest, has been corrupted by the system in which he or she works

              OK - in simple terms:

County Court bailiffs are NOT self employed; Bailiffs working for the Sheriffs Office are NOT self employed - they work for the High Court; Private bailiffs tend to be self employed, and are often used to enforce Magistrate Court fines; Certificated bailiffs apply to the County Court to get a certificate which enables them to levy distress for CTax and rent arrears - this is secured by a £10000 bond - most LA's insist on certification for all bailiff work.

What is certain is that Distress as a method of debt collection as per the late great Lord Denning's views belongs in the previous century, there would be no need for marstons and their ilk

                  Re: Marstons!

Oh Heck! What have I started here? I posted on here because I felt I had nowhere else to turn to for urgent advice. My local CAB's phone was ringing off the hook and I couldn't think of anything else other than having a search on google for answers. In that search I came across this website. I can't tell you how relieved and comforted I was when Milo stepped in, she contacted Marstons and they put it all on hold effective immediately. God knows I'd tried myself with them on the phone, and they weren't having any of it. Before speaking to Milo I was terrified to be at work knowing that my son was either at home alone, or alone with his younger 11 yr old brother. Milo was my guardian angel, and if ever I needed one it was last week as I was completely out of my depth.
I struggle weekly to pay my bils on time, sometimes going without food myself to make the payments. And so to be faced with such an horrendously high bill and told it needed paid immediately did scare me to death. That aside from the impact that the caller has had on my sons nerves since. But as I stipulated before, the caller/bailiff was not to know of my son's mental health issues as no correspondence had been received earlier for me to interact with previous to her visit. I was upset and very angry that anyone could think that they had the right to hammer on anyone's door in such a fashion, not knowing who may may on the other side of door.

It certainly was NOT my intention to cause such a Hooha of verbal put downs and hostility directed towards anyone on here.

It was my birthday on Saturday.. I am yet another year older and certainly a tad wiser. At my age I really don't celebrate these days, neither could I have afforded to had I have wanted to... But! I had a priceless birthday present from someone I've never met... She turned the wolves away from our door and has given me time to sort things out with the original court in the meantime; Utterly Priceless!

So to you all I do thank you for your support and your time to read and comment on my post. And to Milo, you have my gratitude 100 times over x

Ps.... Stop bickering? life is just Too damned short and it can already be such a hard one at that... So when you come across folks that are around to support you or to guide you, then cherish them and be thankful that they are around for the next time (God forbid that you will need them again) lol :0)

I'm REALLY pleased you got the help you needed. I've not read the whole thread, so thankfully missed much of the bickering, but it can happen and detracts from threads. Fortunately in your case it hasn't stopped you coming back - well done Milo for sorting you out with Marstons!

Thank you so much for your kind words.

I cannot tell you how awful the comments have been against me for helping you.

It was complete and utter madness. I am still livid even now.

Anyway....I hope that your situation gets sorted out asap and please give your son a big hug from me. xx

And Thank You to Milo from me too xxx I am thrilled she got a great resolution for you by dealing with the problem at source. She is hugely committed and passionate about supporting victims of bailiff malpractice and I personally am embarrassed by some of the comments directed at her of late.

Keep up the good work Milo X
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
