    Re: Ross & Robert Bailiffs

    Hi Sairlp,

I'm not sure how I've only just read this properly, so apologise for not having responded earlier.

I know you have already tried, but I think you need to do two things at this point in time:

    1. Send Letter 1 from here http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...Useful-Letters This should give you a detailed breakdown of how they arrived at their ridiculous fees. Send a copy to the Head of Revenues at the council as well - get proof of postage as a minimum (this is free) - if you choose to send recorded delivery that is up to you, but not required as evidence in law.

    2. Phone the council asap and find out the following information:
    1. How many Liability Orders they have against you?
    2. The dates they were obtained?
    3. The addresses they were for?
    4. The period of time each covers?
    5. How much each one was for?
    6. How much is still outstanding?
    7. The dates they were passed on for enforcement?

As soon as you get this information, post up what you've got and we can begin starting to get this mess sorted for you.

Follow the advice given by labman and the others then Beagles will help you in the fight against the Evil Empire Capita's minions, Ross 'n Robbers. Capita: Too many fingers in too many pies.

        Re: Ross & Robert Bailiffs

Just wanted to update you all, especially those that helped
Despite having several threatening phone calls from Ross & Roberts, throughout the past week, I have just spoken to the council and they have had the debt sent back to them
They said they were also going to investigate the bailiff charges, which look like they could have taken as much as £1400 at least!!!!!!!
Is there anything we could do to claim these changes back do you think?
Thanks again for input and advice, I am so relieved that I never have to deal with these people again!!

Did you ever get the information as in Post 16? The starting point to combat this is contained in those 2 requests.

            Hi Plodderton
No I didn't....I recieved email confirmation from the council that they'd recieved the request but have recieved nothing back
Have heard nothing from either Equita or Ross & Roberts, they have recieved the letters as sent recorded delivery.
            Should I chase these up?
            Thanks

Oh yes. Even though they have referred the matter back to the Council they are still obliged to furnish the information you requested. The reason for asking both Council & Bailiffs is because often the figures do not tally. In my view you still have plenty of milegae left in this.

I'll echo Ploddertom with that. Yes, PLEASE follow it up and ensure you get the information. The council will provide it over the phone, the bailiffs will need a letter, quite possibly Recorded Delivery or they are unlikely to get it bizarrely!
