  • Marstons still chasing.

    Hi to all,
I posted a thread back in January about marstons chasing me for there fees, the long and the short of it is i stupidly canceled my d/d to the speeding fine people as i thought i had finished paying my fine. I then paid the remainder which was £26. marstons then said are you paying our "fees" and told them to bugger off.
had a phone call from a bailiff phone me to tell me he was at my house and what i am going to do about paying the fees which now equate to £300 !!! i said no i'm not paying anything he said he will get a locksmith and force entry the usual scare tatics, i then replied you can bring the 7th cavalry if you want you are not getting a penny !! he said he would leave a notice and pay a return visit. however on returning home no notice was found ?? it now has come to light that he posted the removal notice plus a card to execute a ditress warrant issued against me through hmcs thames valley magistrates court through my nieghbours door instead.
Could i ask some advice on what to do next please ?
I have sent one of the template letters of here to send me a breakdown of charges within 14 days as they are obliged to do. any other course of action i can take ?
    Cheers,
    Paddy.

Was there a reason you were not going to pay their fees? Can you give a link to your original thread?

      Eccentricity?

After all, any reasonable person would surely be overjoyed at the prospect of paying Marstons £85 for merely sending a letter.

        Re: Marstons still chasing.

        Hi
i have been sent a letter by the above demanding payment of £26 pounds plus £85 costs. this was due to a speeding fine which i agreed to pay off at £26 a month (not with marstons i might add) i got my months mixed up and stopped it one month early, i didnt realise this till i got the letter this morning!
i am willing to pay off the £26 as this was my fault and a genuine mistake on my part. But i do not want to deal with Marstons i any way shape or form due to what i have read on here.
it states on the letter "they are in possession of a magistrates court order as a consequence of non payment for the amount above (£26) they are instructed to demand immeadiate payment in full from me within 7 days of this letter , unless it is paid into our office within the timescale , our bailiffs will attend to levy and distress and remove your goods for sale by public auction, this action will involve minimum further costs of £215.
I dont get paid until the 25th of Jan so this will go past their 7 day deadline .

Any advice on what i can do on this and where i stand .
        Many Thanks ,
        Paddy.

When you next get a fine, invest in a calendar, year planner or a diary.
