  • Is Mackenzie Hall owned by Lloyds TSB?

Hi, I have received a letter from Lloyds TSB informing an account has been passed on to Mackenzie Hall on 4th January signed by Carol Thompson, the same signature name and signature appears on letters I have received on 14th January in Feb and March.

On that basis is this DCA owned by Lloyds and if not are Mckenzie then doing something illegal by sending letters on Lloyds letter head?

Thanks for any light you may shed on this!

Mucky Hall are a JOKE and NOT owned by LTSB.
They specialise in completely unenforceable and statute barred debts.

Why LTSB have taken to sending debts to these muppets is beyond me..

As for the "signature" and use of letter headed paper, well what do I really need to say, other than this is quite normal for DCA's

Muck Hall are a toothless bunch of numpties, as mentioned by Curlyben, they are a joke, their letters will be full of if buts and maybes, and we will be reccommending our clients do this that and the other. You may also be threatened with a dorstep call from an agent. he has no powers rights of ways of forcing anyone to deal with him.

Thanks Curlyben, I always thought this was illegal as false misrepresentation. I'll do a little more investigating and update my post with my findings.

How often are they calling? If it is several times a day, you could say that they are breaching OFT guidelines, and you will be reporting them to OFT for harassment, and will also be collating a list of all their calls as evidence, then put the phone down

I receive a call first from 0141, followed straight away by 0192 about 11. This is normally 2-3 times a day, 11, between 12.30-1.00 then 2.40 ish. I put the phone on silent and ignore the calls!

Log the calls, and especially as they are silent and are a Muck hall number, pass to OFT

Just popped in after finding my log in details from 4 years ago.
My lareg problems were with lloyds and Many years ago Mc hall where on another floor in a lloyds building and they were under the same Umbrella.
I have had my suspitions for years that Carol Thompson doesnt actually exist as her name has been on floating aropund on Letters for the past 8 years.

Thanks, Clever-Clogs, something just does not sit right! I have checked at companies house and MC do not appear to be linked with Lloyds TSB, maybe I am looking for this information in the wrong place. However by sending letters out on Lloyds letterhead seams misleading possibly illegal unless they are tied. I will continue with my search for Carol Thompson and update with any findings.

Thanks Bizzybob, it's a little weird as I have had no calls for 2 days, I expect they will start up again very soon!

It is not just MH that do this, most DCA's send out letters pretending to be from banks. I have more than I care to remember. Just today I received a letter from Nationwide but the envelope was postmarked Thornton Heath Surrey where CCSCollect are.

Thanks Jack Russell, so it appears to be common practice, still think it's illegal, so will keep searching until I get confirmation that it's no.
                          Just.
