There is nothing that gives a time limit for them to reply but allowing them 14 days to reply is generous considering there is little for them to do. Did you also send it by email? Have you checked to see if it was received as you sent it RD? The problem is you are going to run into the holiday period so in actual fact you may have to give them until 7 January!

Could be as I'm told Auntie Stella may be a frequent visitor but not sure how often Uncle Arthur will be here.

ok, got a letter back today...

Having looked at the case I note no times of visits have been logged, there have been numerous visits made by our external team in the attempted collection of the debts. On each occasion, where no contact has been established, a letter would have been left.

              STATEMENT
              Bailiff ref number .....
              PCN .......

              DEBT 112.00
              INITIAL LETTER 11.20
              VISIT FEE'S 35.00
              VAT 9.24

              TOTAL 167.44
              PAYMENTS REC'D 0.00

              BALANCE 167.44

I can confirm our bailiff mr ......... was certified at southampton cc 12th april 2012

To prevent our collection procedures from escalating, we request that you put fwd an offer of repayment in order to bring the debt to an amicable conclusion

              yours sincerely .....

That lying ******* told me to pay him 350.00 !!!!

ok, beagles .... what do you think ???

Have to be honest & say this does appear cheap compared with a lot of others. I don't doubt you will be due a another visit very soon when the charge will go up again. If it were me know all other avenues had been exhausted I would try to find the cash to pay.

Good of them, they might have to wait a long time.

                    Legitimate charges are in here:

                    http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...rking-Offences

Work out what you think and compare it to what they have charged. We'll then double check figures.
