Re: Help for my Mum with Rundles.

I would be sorely-tempted to ask Mr Numpty if he's thinking of changing his job. If he asks why, tell him straight that his fees are excessive and that the District Judge at the court which issued his certificate would certainly be interested to know as to how he arrived at the figure he quoted.

Just one more quick thing (for now) Mr B said he could not talk to me on the phone about my mum's case, even though she'd give me permission to, is this so, the council had no problem with this? They don't seem to mind talking to her husband even though she's no longer with him to threaten and collect money from him! As long as he's handing over money.

If they do not have written authority to talk about the case with you, they are technically in breach of the DPA 1998 if they do so. HOWEVER, in this case it is far more likely to be the fact they do not want to talk to you, as you know what they're allowed to charge.

Bailiffs are not known for their ethics, so now you've backfooted them, keep pushing!

Sadly, as you know, this sort of overcharging is commonplace.
