The bailiff company need to be contacted immediately and inform them that the person/s they are looking for do not live at your address.

You need to ring the court and ask to speak to the HMCTS Enforcement Manager about this. Enforcement Managers are responsible for county court bailiffs, Warrant Officers and certificated bailiffs under contract to HMCTS. In my experience, the HMCTS Enforcement Managers are, on the whole, helpful. I suggest you do this today, if at all possible.

Could you please confirm that the letter you received is actually from the county court and not a firm of certificated bailiffs?

Thanks for replies; yes letter from County Court.

Do I need to prove in some form of the old tenant no longer being at the address?

Is it for council Tax or a our a court fine? If its council tax then you need to contact the council and let them know the tenant they after doesn't live at your address.

It's County Court, Teaboy. The OP needs to speak to the HMCTS Enforcement Manager for that court today. If proof is required, the tenancy agreement, showing the date the tenancy commenced would be best.
