  • Equita Bailiff Charges

Hello All....Equita Bailiff Is asking me for two amounts. These amounts are for two outstanding PCN's. Which i want to clear!Bailliff
wants me to pay £302.00 on one. and £355.30 for the other. Equita wouldnt explain any charges at first, but i did what bluebottle suggested and sent a letter and email requesting a breakdown of fees. At first they responded with a letter stating that all questions should be dealt with via the bailiff...Mr Bailiff stated that he couldnt discuss fees with me and to go back to Equita!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhh.Round and round i went.
Today, i received a letter stating the following:
    Debt 1. Debt: £82.00. Letter: £11.20. Charges: £0.83. VAT: £2.41. Total: £96.44. Total Paid: £67.56. Balance left: £28.88.
    Debt 2. Debt: £82.00. Letter: £11.20. Charges: £1.25. VAT £2.49. Total: £96.94. Total Paid: £34.94. Balance left: £62.00.

On the breakdown it does not state any of Mr Bailiff's fees!?

Mr Bailiff has not been to my property but has said that he is visiting tomorrow....he states that he will add another £200 on each bill if i keep on!!!

I want to pay my debt...i dont want to be taken for a ride...+ i cannot afford £657.30.

Blubottle has helped alot. Im just putting this thread out to all because i know you all get sooo busy with these things. What should i do? Is he right in requesting his amounts?? Please advise.

Many, many heart felt THANK YOU'S.

First of all may I suggest you edit your post and remove the Bailiff's name.

Has he actually visited you yet?

Can you pay the 2 sums that you have listed above, total £90-88. If so pre-empt him and pay, that way he can go and play with the cars on the motorway. It goes against the grain but if you do not have the cash yourself could a family member help! He wants to come to see you as he wants to ramp up his fees.

Excellent advice as always PT - totally agree, pay the money and scupper his ability to whack on a shed load of extra charges.

Thanks Ploddertom... I called Equita to pay earlier this evening as i can afford £90.88, but they refused to take payment and said i have to go back to the Bailiff!?

I cant pay online either as i lost my card over the wkend and i can only pay in cash or via internet banking direct into their account. Equita, wont give me an a/c number or sort code!!!!???? very tired

Would it be worth me telling the Bailiff that there is a cheque in the post to give me some time? My new card is in the post and should be here any day now!! Dont have anyone here that could pay it for me via card now.

            Many thanks for all advice.

Going back to the original tickets. Were you aware of them? Have you moved since they were issued?

As far as Equita are concerned it is plainly obvious they are being obstructive in order to garner more fees. The Bailiff is plainly lying listing the sums he has. I would be tempted to contact the Council in the morning telling them they are refusing to take payment from you. I don't think a cheque will work as it is no guarantee of payment.

He would far rather help you with the £90, only if it gets any higher would he utter old anglo saxon words that should not be made in front of ones children.
