  • Swift Credit Services-Merthyr

My wife recently had a visit from Swift Credit Services a Bailiff company based in Merthyr Tydfil South Wales. After knocking on the door my wife answered to be informed that there was an outstanding warrant of in excess of £400 for a parking fine.My wife stated she wanted to discuss this with me first and rang me in work.At this point the bailiffs stated they would clamp my wifes vehicle which was parked outside. My wife paid the debt reluctantly as she felt the figures were wrong but felt totally intimidated by the 2 bailiffs .On my return and looking at the warrant the debt was in fact for £120 but he had already put on clamping fee without giving my wife option to pay reduce fee which was on the warrant. We have written formal complaint to Swift but received a letter back stating they had acted correctly.I am not prepared to let this go and will now proceed with a Form 4 to get the bailiff in court to swear on oath and question his suitability to hold a bailiff licence .

This is a very brief description of what happened and my wife stated he was threatening and she felt frightened.Has anyone on this forum experienced Swift Credit Services or completed a Form 4.

I would not complete a Form 4 complaint against them, certainly not yet. They should only be used as a last resort.

Why? Because over the past couple of years courts have been awarding costs in the bailiffs favour, sometimes running into five figure amounts.

What sort of Parking Ticket was it? Penalty Charge or Fixed Penalty?

Come back with any questions you may have. PLEASE don't act in haste though, you may well live to regret it. :beagle:

Thanks for your quick response. It was a ticket in a Local Authority car park. The annoying thing was my wife had purchased a ticket which had run out by 15 minutes.I am so annoyed with the way this bailiff went about his business and the extortinate fee he charged .The bailiff was a bare faced liar.

I know - I've been there. You feel like giving them a good slap!

Have a read of the guide. I think your first move will be to write for a breakdown of their fees:

        Letter 1.
