  • Removal notice

I have just received a few letters today stating removal notices on the top. The bailiff's called today for the second time so they say but I can not remember the fist time, they have charged me £18 for this visit which I have check and that right, but have enclosed in the letter 3 more letters with different amounts on them, They all say removal notices on them can you tell me what they are? They all say they can peaceably enter my premises and remove good even in my absence. I know the golden rule not to let them in. The thing is I am at work all day and don,t get home till late. Can they come to my work place and hound me ?

Have they entered your home on a previous occasion? If not, the threats they are making are illegal.

In practice, a certificated bailiff (aka a certificated scumbag) tries to force an entry to someone's home without an order signed by judge at their peril. Also, no reputable locksmith (especially members of the Master Locksmiths Association) will break locks without first seeing such order. And the police will not allow a bailiff to do so without them seeing such an order.

As for them coming to your place of work and hassling you, the answer to that question is "Not unless they want your boss to have them forcibly ejected from the premises by the police." They can only attend the address on the Liability Order, in your case. Their legal protection against trespass under Council Tax Enforcement Regulations is linked to that address.

            Have a read of these:

            http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...The-First-Time

            and

            http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...67-Council-Tax

If you have any questions after reading, just ask. Most importantly don't let them in and remember you do not have to have anything to do with them for CT Bills.
