Hi Matty and welcome to Legal Beagles.

Firstly, did you receive a summons? Secondly, were you notified of any court hearing? Thirdly, were you sent notification of the fine?

If you can post this up information, we can see what other help you need.

Hi Matty, sorry to hear about your marriage and your breakdown. There's a section on the site where you can offload all that 'baggage' and talk about it in total confidence. I'll try to remember to post a link to it when I'm on my proper computer.

Meanwhile we need to sort out these bailiffs. Please have a read of the link I posted up. It takes you through each step of the procedure for a Magistrates' Court so we'll know exactly where you are. More importantly, it points out certain things you should definitely have received, especially something called a Further Steps Notice. Please have a read and come back with questions.

If I forget to post the other link, feel free to pm me and I'll send you the link and explain how to access it.

Matty, when you were in hospital, were you there voluntarily or under a section? If you were in hospital when this matter with the TV licence arose, this may put things in a different light.

                Hi Matty,

I'm really sorry about what you are experiencing - it's awful when you are just getting yourself back on track - I have been there. Don't let this bailiff and his company push you back down that road again - nothing is worth it. That said, you are in the right place to get the right help for you here. This site and the people on it have helped me so much with fighting my debt and getting treated fairly, as well as a friendly ear when it pulls you down. No one will judge you here.

                Good Luck x
