If you are going to the Court tomorrow it may pay to ask if you can have copy of the original documents as you need it to put together extra details for your defence. I assume you applied for Set Aside as you did not receive the original documentation and were denied the chance to defend/counterclaim/make offer of payment.

i will be going to the court tomorrow morning so will ask for the copies, thankyou.
i didnt have a chance to put in a defence as the judgement came. i take it i have to have a hearing for judgement to be set aside, they wont just do this by post.

Dependent on what you put in your Set Aside application there should be a Hearing but occasionally the Court may make an Order on its own if it thinks your application has no merit.

Thankyou to the very kind member(s) who have been so helpful to me in this case, i really appreciate everything you have done.
It has been a long battle but i got set aside to the ccj and then after several court hearings, several defences/witness statements and the Claimant constantly changin the amounts they wanted to claim between £1500-£11,000 and finally asking £2,750 the case was dismissed.

Nice to know you got a good result, but there might be a lesson to be learned in this - more paperwork! A clear written agreement about liabilities and responsibilities is a good idea. It's not at all uncommon when buying pedigrees - dogs at least, and I assume the same is true of cats. They are very expensive items!

It pays to know the cat breeder even with 'moggies'...My Winnie and Incs developed really bad dermatitas,,Incy was awful,,spent an absolute fortune on treatments for her,,then get told all the kittens from the same Queen have skin problems.

Well done poster. Another proof that one should NEVER rely on court processing documents on time and correctly, e-mail back up is always a good idea. With regards to dietary values of four legged critters, mongrels have very little taste value, I think equines are much better as supported by Findus, Tesco and all other producers and purveyors.
