    Re: Marstons And Tv Licence

Just for peace of mind, the below is more reliable than me!!!!

    National Debtline

    http://www.bdl.org.uk/images/13_EW_N...rt%20fines.pdf

If you cannot afford to pay you can apply to the
    fines officer for:
    • further time to pay;
    • to pay by instalments; or
    • to change the instalments you have been
    ordered to pay.

    Warning
You can only do this if you can prove you
have had a change in your circumstances or you
can give the court extra information about your
    financial position.

If the fines officer refuses your request you can
appeal to the magistrates’ court within ten days.
This should lead to a hearing with the
    magistrates.

I have every faith in you guys so I knew they were fobbing me off yet again ! I am going to write to marstons today explaining I cannot afford the payments that I was told to pay and offer them what I can , need to do this as now d/d is cancelled they will be round withore fees added , also will write to magistrates court explaining everything including phone calls to fines office . Just so I get this right could someone advise what to put in the letter and would I address this to court manager ?

Yes, address it to the court manager and send recorded. Another court has mysteriously failed to receive four letters recently. It was incredibly convenient for them. Lol

Might also be worth copying to the CEO of TV Licensing. :-)

                  Hi Lucy,

In your situation, with the death at Christmas I would imagine you're still feeling down. If you were able to pop to your GP and tell him, and explain this situation is making things worse and ask if he could write a letter in support, take that with you to the Magistrates' Court and the chances are you'll be granted a Means Enquiry Hearing there and then.

Obviously if you're not still having ill effects from the death, this option is not available to you. In that case, I'd recommend you pay Marstons as much as you can afford and sustain on a weekly basis (same day every week) - get a receipt. Eventually, as long as they don't gain peaceful access to your property, they will either accept the payment, or it will automatically go back to the court as part of the process. This is obviously more stressful.

Keep on at the court though, asking them for the hearing. it's important you are seen to be trying your hardest to pay the fine.

Write to your MP and tell him/her/it how the courts and the ba:censored:rd bailiffs are treating you.
