  • Baliff fees

    Hi everyone.

I am new to this and placed my first post in the incorrect thread, for that I apologise.

    My situation is this.

I had a repayment arrangement with a building supplier that was organised through the courts. I missed two payments in Nov & Dec 2011 which amounted to £120. This week I had a "Notice of seizure" put through my door with a levy placed on my car.
I spoke to the enforcement officer and told him that I had managed to borrow the money but that the HCEO fees were unacceptable, he just replied that what was on the "Notice seizure" was what I had to pay, with the costs being.
    Judgment debt £2112.81
    Judgment costs £0.00
    Costs of execution £111.75
    Assessed solicitor costs £0.00
    Interest to date £4.01
    HCEO fees £879.59

Less repayments I have made £660.00

    Total oustanding £2394.16

I am absoluteley speechless that HCEO fees are so high, is this the norm.
Any sound advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Re: Baliff fees

Unless there is a costs order made against you, you dont have to pay the fees charged under Reg 12 of Schedule 3 of the HCEO 2004 regs

The prescribed fees are otherwise, questionable, and you have lots of ground to challenge them. See: http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...ad.php?t=32526

You have a right to make a complaint to police and report the HCEO for committing an offence under the Fraud Act.

See: http://www.publications.parliament.u...70420w0001.htm see under Crime Fraud

It doesnt matter what the company says on its website. The law decides what an HCEO can charge without a costs order.
