    Re: Council Tax

If you are paying the council directly, try to get something from the bailiffs in writing that no further charges will be incurred. Personally I'd still invest £10 on a bailiff's SAR Bailiff - SAR - Legal Beagles Consumer Forum in order to get a clear breakdown of their fees. I bet there's quite a few you can still reclaim and I, like Wendy, would be creating a little to do my best not to pay them a penny.

Have you written to the CEO?

      2. If so, why have you allowed such disregard for the law to continue.
      3. If not, what are your proposals to deal with the issue

I followed this up with a "why have you not replied" sort of letter, again, no reply. I really do not think it acceptable that they have ignored such a letter from a person they are supposed to represent, there are many more vulnerable people who would be intimidated into paying these costs. where would you go next with this?

      anyway, once again, thank you
If it were me I would forget about them, go over their heads direct to the Leader of the Council and his opposite number. If any of the dissenters are in their party they may well get their bumps felt.

Did you mean a phrenological consultation or a TUBE (link) procedure?

Your letters to the Recovery dept will most likely be delivered to the back room staff that are outsourced to Capita (who own Equita)

It has been mentioned to make a Formal Complaint to the Council...this is good advice but you need to address that to the CEO of the Council and mark the envelope to that fact also, send by signed for/reistered post. At this point an SAR is not required and as it permits the respondant to a further 40 days to make a reply it is only delaying the process.

Have you written to the bailffs requesting a breakdown of their fee's? this is not a subject access request therefore it does not require a fee and, it is a fact they are obliged to send the information.
