I wonder just how many of these recordings will mysteriously be deleted?
Marston trials new video badge technology
Marston Group (Marston) is pleased to announce the launch of a pilot programme in respect of new video badge recording technology, known as Body Worn Videos (BWVs), across the country.
BWVs have primarily been used by police officers and a small cross-section of other public service operatives until now. Users have obtained important benefits from the badges, including a reduction in disputed interactions.
The BWVs are now being trialled by a number of Marston's enforcement agents. It is hoped that BWVs will increase transparency for clients and customers, provide Health & Safety protections and capture independent evidence of agent/customer interactions, thereby reducing scope for complaints.
Agents participating in the pilot will receive comprehensive training in respect of BWV use, and will follow carefully designed protocols. All digital footage produced by BWVs will be encrypted and securely stored to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
