  • Further Steps Notice

Hi, I recieved a further steps notice dated 26 July 2011 on 25th August from HMCS kent & Surrey finance centre saying i owe £645 and have failed to make payment, it does not say what payment i have failed to pay or gives me any clues as to what its for, during the next week while searching my paperwork to see if i can find anything with this account number or with this court division i recieve a letter from Marston Baliffs Offence: rear seat belt not fitted: child under 12 yrs a. 01/07 2008, total £720 NO REMINDERS WILL BE ISSUED, IT SAYS UNLESS THE FULL AMOUNT IS PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE DATE OF THIS LETTER the baliffs will attend to levy distress and remove good for sale by PUBLIC AUCTION. THIS WILL INVOLVE FURTHER COSTS OF £200. I can remember the instance, i had been to london euston to pick up my daughter and grandson who is under 12, the police officers stopped pulled me over, told me to leave my car where it was then parked, which was on double yellow lines and walk to argos and buy a car seat, while doing as i was told a traffic warden put a fixed penalty notice on my car and even though i explained to him what had happened he said he has to do his job, fair enough. I was given a ticket by the police officers to produce my documents in my local station, which i did and was then told i would hear from them in due coarse. As i moved from my then address in Kent, back to lancs i heard no more about it untill now. I have contacted the courts and explained this and made an offer of payment which they refused as its now in the baliffs hands, i then contacted Marston who informed me that i have to pay £290 now and the outstanding amount within 4 wks, I am currently unemployed and not recieving benifits due to starting a new job within the next week, i have no savings, have very little of value in my home, which is rented and have an old car (1998) which i need for my work as i am a community support worker, please can anyone advise me as i have no idea as to what to do next.
