      OMG - don't remind me what I used to be. I'm normal now, I've escaped the prison of schools. Actually that raises a serious point. Does anybody else find that teachers (very broad generalisation coming) can be very petty minded as all they done is go to school, university then back into schools and have very limited insight into the real world?

        I always understood that the council paid the bailiffs first and then took the rest. I would check with th ecouncil to find out whether or not the bailiffs have been paid.

          If it is paid via the bailiffs, the bailiffs take their fees then pass the remainder to the Council. In this case the OP paid the Council the outstanding CT direct, so no baliff's fees were paid.
