Southwark Council & JBW Bailiff

Hi, JBW took away my car on orders of Southwark Council for unpaid PCNs back in April 2010. Only found my car when reported it stolen to the Police. Filled n224 and all other forms, got PCNs canceled, but car was not returned to me, as bailiff "in a gesture of a goodwill" (-their own words) , released my car and parked in Forest Hill area in July 2010- found out this only in October 2010 when in Court for PCNs. Car was originally towed from address in Ilford, where I was living at the time. All relevant institutions were informed about change of address in time. I've lived in Forest Hill back in 2008. Filled claim in small claims Court against Southwark Council, but just got Court papers, where Southwark is Denying all responsibillity! Have a PRELIMINARY hearing in May. Any thoughts on what could/will happen? Do not have a Sollicitor- can not afford one at present. Thanks.
