By reducing these fees the council has admitted the bailiffs were wrong. If it were me, I'd take it further. I'd take it much further.

How many other people, who don't have access to a forum such as this, have Jacobs fleeced? Will the council be examining all the accounts handled by Jacobs because they certainly should?

      Re: Jacobs Response

I do want to take it further but I'm not sure where to go with it. Should I write to the Council again? report Jacobs to OFT? or Form 4 complaint on the Bailiff?

Also I understand here is an ombudsman for the Councils should I report it there.

You are completely right re taking it further and that is exactly how I feel, just not sure what my next steps should be.

In the first instance I would write a reply to the council and see what they say.

I totally agree that you should take the matter further. However have you the energy, time and patience? Both Council & Ombudsman rather like dragging their feet in these matters.

I do feel very strongly about this issue, and feel I should persue. I will try writing to the council again and see where their gets me (if anywhere!!).

I guess you could also involve the local media, they might be interested in the story

OK an update of you all.

The Council, have decided that due the Jacobs treating my so badly, they have withdrawn the debt from them, and told Jacobs to refund all the fees I have paid to them.

They are also reviewing the usage of Jacobs for the future!!

                Victory!!!!!!
