  • Incorrect date of offence on bailiff demand letter

    Hello all,

    Looking for some advice folks.

    Background
PCN issued to me when on holiday back in June 2008. No photographic evidence ever supplied so I never replied to any correspondence. Went quiet for a long time until I paid a fine in London 6 months ago then the letters started again for the PCN. Eventually went to TEC and I failed to reply resulting in the initial bailiff letter today. I accept this 'laissez faire' approach was not a wise move on my part and accept the knuckle rap:nono:

    Query

The letter issued to me states Parking Penalty £110
    Bailiff Cost £11.75

However in the Bailiff letter when listing the PCN/Date of Offence/Car Registration details they have typed the 'date of offence' as the issue date of the letter...does this offer any options other than advising the bailiff office that I expect a properly detailed and factually correct letter before I consider the next step?:noidea:

I thank ye in advance for all advice received:hail:

You need to write to them and ask to see a copy of the warrant. A warrant has a life of only 12 months, so depending when the warrant was issued, they could well be out of time on this.

In your letter, it would be worth mentioning the date error too, but obviously don't provide them with the actual date of the parking infringement.
