  • Quick question about bailiffs and levying on a vehicle

Can a bailiff levy on a vehicle which is parked on a private driveway? Also are they allowed to force entry into a shed and garden?

yes they can however if your car is on HP/finance or has little or no value and the do levy it you must send a letter providing proof of HP/finance or the approximate value of your car
Detailed Assessment Judgement of Throssell v Leeds City Council where the District Judge ruled as follows:
a vehicle should only be removed if the proceeds of sale provide that there would be a surplus available to the liability order after deductions for the bailiff fees, , removal storages and auctioneers fees.

Also are they allowed to force entry into a shed and garden?
    no not for council tax

thanks for that wicca your a star :-)

As regards the car its worth around £900 (autotrader sellin privately), so would be £500-£700 maybe at auction if theyre lucky.
This wouldnt even make a huge dent in what i owe the council!!!
