Re: Admitting a bailiff - Rossendales Bailiffs

I was pretty depressed and disillusioned by my conversation with the city council but got back into action after some breakfast!

Got the clamp removed by proving ownership. I was shown a notice of distress which listed my car and my wife's car (which she has since sold). The bailiff claimed that my son had received a copy of this notice but my son denies it.

I also found out that the money paid to Leeds council back in September included costs of £182. The bailiff is claiming another £138. He wanted to include another £30 for the clamping of my car, much to my indignation, but agreed not to charge it. If I post the list of costs on here, will someone be able to advise me if the charges are fair and reasonable?

I've read various stuff but I am very confused and feel quite threatened. How does my son find out exactly how much is owed? Does he really need to respond within 24 hours?

Does opening the door when the baliff calls constitute an invitation to enter?

My son has been dealing with CCCS over his bank debts. Will they also negotiate with the bailiffs over this debt?

Thanks for any advice or help you can give.
