Bailiff's fees - a question.

I am a little puzzled by bailiff’s fees and how they are applied.

As a hypothetical case – should a warrant be in place for £ XXX and the bailiffs then add their fees (often a considerable amount) they then demand immediate payment of the whole amount.

Surely the sum for which they can use their powers to collect relates to that on the original warrant. Their fees are a separate entity and should be billed accordingly.

Is it legal for them to extract payment by the same methods, at the same time, without going through the court process?

I am aware that fees allowed vary with the type of court. My query relates to a PCN – County Court.

I think OP is trying to say something like this

Baliff instructed to collect £500 by court
Bailiff adds £125 'fees'
Bailiff demands £625 or goods will be seized

The OP (i think) is trying to ask can the bailiff be paid the original £500 and thus they are 'safe' from goods being seized, then the bailiff should pursue their fees separately in another process.

Could be wrong though

I had a fine for £48 from the courts for no tv licence I lost my job and am currently unemployed it then went to Phillips bailiffs who are now asking for £329 I only recieved two letters then called them straight away is there fees fair here or are they asking a bit much from me?
