  • Help Needed with Bailiffs

    Hello everyone,
Today, through the garage that i rent a car from I have got 2 letters from JBW Group, saying that I have to pay 297 pounds plus an additional 350 pounds for an un paied ticket.
The ticket , that I never was aware of (probably removed from my car window) was issued in 2008 after April. These letters and presumably other letters came to an adress that I have moved out of in January 2009, no letters from any bailiffs or the city council about this ticket came there while i was living there tough. So, after I had moved, I did notify the City council of my new adress and 6 months latter I had notified again of a new adress. Still everything apparently got mailed to my old adress and for the wrong name. The wrong name means that my surname is missing, my first name is spelled correctly and my second name is misspelled.
One of the letters says :
"Our bailiff has visited and confirmed your adress.
Your failure to contact us suggests that it is your intention to avoid payment. We will now attend your home with our removal team, enter your premises and remove goods ... etc"
That is and hasn`t been my home in more than a year.
I went to the Civic Parking offices and they told me I need to get a late statuatory form and gave me the number for Northampton offices and they emailed me a form called : Witness statement – unpaid penalty charge (Parking) (because it has happened after april 2008)
ANd also they have told me to inform the bailiffs of my action of completing and forwarding the form. THey also asked of my new adress which I omitted to give away since their whole recovery thing will not stop unless the court says so.
I don`t have a problem with paying the parking ticked, but is there any change I can have these charges from the bailiffs removed ?

    Thank you

Yes, there is every chance since they have simply plucked a figure from the air and trebled it.
