Advice needed regarding Phillips bailiffs

Does anybody know if Phillips are proper bailiffs or not? On the letter they have sent me it says 'Phillips Specialist Bailiff & debt recoverey Agents'

What rights do I have with these? Can they enter my house? I heard you can tell a bailiff (through the letter box) to go away and pass the debt back to whoever had it previous and they have to do this. Is this true?

I'm not sure what the debt is for but it's nothing like council tax, or a fine etc.. i am guessing it is for an unpaid contract phone for TMOBILE or for a catalog debt.

Any help would be appreciated?

If Philips are chasing for a mobile telephone contract then this will not be for bailiff action unless there is a judgment debt against you.

Have you been taken to court for this?

No. I haven't been taken to court over it, or my catalog debt. So is this likely to be more for debt collecting rather than for bailiffs?

Yes, if you know for sure you are not behind with your council tax and have no outstanding traffic fines.

Hi all
I too have just received a demand from Philips for over £500 they say is owed to Past Due Credit solutions. I had a couple of letters from Past Due claiming it is a sum owed to British Gas from 5 years ago, however, I have only had my account with British Gas for 3 years and my account is cleared at every bill. In fact, the last one showed me in credit for a few pounds.
I ignored the Past Due letters (the last of which was several months ago) but as I say, I have now got this one from Philips. What should I do now? Ignore it as with Past Due, or contact them?

If you are absolutely certain you are not behind, then ignore it.

Well, I have ignored it but have just received another letter titled 'Pre-Visit Notice' demanding immediate payment.

Please can you help? Should I contact them and ask for some kind of proof that I owe anything or continue to ignore them?

You've already said you do not owe any money to British Gas, so just continue to ignore their threats. The title of their letter is ridiculous. Will the next one be "I really mean it now....."

I have recieved many letters from philips bailiffs about a TV licence debt. I set up a repayment plan and missed 1 payment due to a sudden death in my family. I recieved a letter stating that mt debt has gone up a further £200 because of this and it must be paid in full. I rang them and told them why i had missed the payment and i wasnt in a position to pay in full and they was of no help at all and said that balliffs will be coming to seize my goods or if i dont answer they will take my vechicle and further costs will be added. Please help! Were do i stand with this?
