Have received a visit from Equita Baliffs (did Not let them in) they have pushed through my door a Baliff removal letter saying I must pay in full, no further instalments will be accepted etc. Rang Baliff on number given on letter offering to pay £100.00 upfront and pay remaining bill in instalments, explained had been in hospital but all to no avail.

My query is can I still pay my council tax directly to the council to clear this debt via post office?

Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Yes and you should do this.

You should also write to the bailiff to ascertain how much in fees have been added to your account.

Have a read here Bailiff Guide - Legal Beagles for more information.
