  • ACI and Verify

Today, a debt collector from Verify Collector, acting on behalf of ACI, visited my home regarding a historic debt with MBNA. I have had no contact regarding this matter for at least the past 8 to 10 years. I am seeking advice on any actions I can take, as I do not wish to speak with them by phone for fear that doing so could be interpreted as an admission of the debt or contact. Any guidance or assistance you could provide would be gratefully received.

    Hi TKING

    Welcome to LB

Try not to worry, Verify have no powers at all, the Postperson has more powers.

Have you made a payment or acknowledged the debt in writing in the last 6 years?

    The debt maybe statute barred.

Firstly, Thank you so much for replying. No I have not made payment in the last 6 years or acknowledged the debt in writing. The original debt is to a company called MBNA which must go back further than I can remember.

      Thank you,
      TK
