  • Ex-husbands Debt

Asking for a friend, they are estranged and starting divorce proceedings, the husband moved out months ago and cut financial ties even removed her without her knowledge or consent as a Director for a company setup as an investment for their young daughter! Anyway, he has a property portfolio and is a developer so probably has money everywhere and currently has numerous companies on Companies House. Yesterday a Bailiff (Marston recovery) turned up at her home out of the blue with a hand delivered FINAL NOTICE - YOUR BELONGINGS WILL BE REMOVED letter for a Council Tax warrant over £2k in his name. Shock took over and it has scared her to death, especially when the Bailiff said he'll be back to force entry and take goods!! She is off to see a solicitor but having read some threads am I correct in advising her that he can't force entry unless he has a court order, but she should keep windows and doors locked etc? As this is clearly not her debt (her own Council Tax on the residence visited is paid by her) and is in relation to probably one of his many properties what should she do right now? (she has a solicitor's appointment next week). Any advice for her as the non-debtor in this unfortunate situation?
