My parents recently received Council tax bills from an enforcement agent, from 7 different periods from around 2008 and 2010 from properties that were tenanted at the time. They were mostly council tenants as well according to my parents. The total bills come to around £3.5k but just wondering is it possible for the Council to send something 12 years later? And do we have to prove they were Council tenants or should they be able to find those records? Unfortunately my parents kept mostly paper records and we are now unable to find the information to say otherwise. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
