Re: Council does not have written contract or service level agreement with bailiff
Hi there
i am new to this forum. At the moment i have a some issues with some ballifs . In 2006 i recieved a parking ticket from the lambeth council which was paid on time. Two years later (2008 oct) i recieved a letter from some baliff stating that i owe the council parking charges . I have not recieved any parking tickets charges or notices since 2006. My bank statement shows payment was recieved. What do i do

Paula8, a warm welcome to Legal Beagles. I suppose the first thing to say is that is the bailiff sniffing around about the 2006 ticket? Have you got proof that the ticket was paid if it was the same bill, ie copy of the cheque?

I'd ignore them for the time being.
They are sniffing around hoping their scare tactics will work and that you'll pay them. You've already paid, you don't need to do so again.

Something stinks which warrants further investigation but in the meantime I suggest you demand evidence of this 'verbal' agreement & the names of those who are party to it
