  • Car finance repossession

    Hi the court have issued a repossession order to the finance company do I have a legal duty to the car until its collected, can it be parked on the road off my driveway so insurance etc

      Depends on what the contract says really, and whether there is a continuing obligation post-termination for you to maintain the insurance and tax until collected. Your duty generally is to take reasonable care not to cause damage or be negligent, but I wouldn't say it goes further than that.

      Does the Repossession Order give a timeframe for the car to be collected?

        It just states in the repossession order that due to current situation the car cannot be collected and they have said they will collect it as soon as possible, but the car was parked on my front garden and the local council have told me to remove it as it's not a parking space so I have had to put the car on the road but it's not taxed, not or insured
