    Advice required

    I’m being emailed by a germany based debt collection agency regarding a web hosting service. I used a company to host my website but I told them I wouldn’t renew with them as their price had nearly doubled compared to the previous year. My website was duly deleted by them in 2020 and I heard nothing more. Last week I received an email from a German debt collection agency saying the web company had instructed them to collect a ‘debt’ of £108! Can anyone advise me what to do? I’ve replied and told them the situation but I don’t know where I stand?

    We do not know where you stand either, not knowing the terms of the contract.

    Is the hosting company based in Germany? If so, your contract may have been governed by German law.
