County Court Claim for PCN UKPC

Hi everyone, this week I have received a county court form after a few years of letters from a PCN company for parking in a "staff zone" at the back of a retail park in Crown Point in Leeds. The staff zone is not clearly marked as there is a separate gated one at the front of the site, a few years ago it seems the rear has been converted to over flow for their staff instead of normal customers. As you enter the white signs that are everywhere in the retail park change to have the word Staff on. However this is not obvious unless you know and they have also left an original "park up to 3 hours" sign on display 30 metres into the newly formed staff car park. Would I be able to use this as my line of defence in court and what would you advise me to do please. As it stands I have not responded to any communication whatsoever.

Firstly I would apply to the court to have the venue changed to your nearest court, as at the moment they are using the online money service.

It seem that they have conflicting signs that could cause confusion. however it would be helpful if you could supply a drawing of the carpark and the positions of the signs (you would need this as evidence if you were to dispute the claim). It would help people to advise you.

Thanks very much for the response. I will apply for a local court.

Attached is google earth rough annotated sketch of the carpark, it is one way with only one entrance at the south. You pass a staff sign, a staff contract sign then an incorrect 3 hour sign then several more staff signs dotted around the perimeter as sketched in green. You can also see the staff designated bays start well before this incorrect sign.

Let me know if you need any further info. Would be really useful for some advice on a a straight froward defence I can submit to the courts as I have not done one before.
