Hi ,
Thank you for welcoming us here.
I have a legal advice query.
Our son was duped into parting money for some business venture. He's only 15. The other boy is also 15 but he also introduced our son to other adults.
Now we have reported this matter to the police and they want to record a video testimonial from our son (who's autistic) to be able to prosecute or they'll simply close the case.
So my questions are:
1. Is that really the case that without his testimony they don't have a case?
2. If we agree to our son giving video testimonial (which could later be used in the court), then can this matter come back to bite him in any way?
Yes our son stole from us (but that's a matter between us & him). We are not prosecuting our own son. We only want the perpetrators who preyed on his innocence & of God knows how many others to be prosecuted.
So, in that regard, is it advisable to go ahead with our son giving evidence and for the matter to proceed?
We would be grateful for your legal advice.
Many Thanks
