Never done this before, but looking for advice.
My husband had an accident was off work, then made redundant, so had to find another job, found another job that didn't pay as much so couldn't afford to pay mbna £250 per month, so phoned them, they cut the payments in half, was paying each month, still a strain but managed it. Then a letter from pra group came through the post asking for a dd to get set up, which i found strange as he was still paying mbna at this point.
Long story short paid pra off in feb this year and the same day or a day or so later the added a default to my husbands account. Is there anyway of getting this removed

    Re: Pra group

What was the date of default registered on hubby's account?
    Had MBNA defaulted him before.

I take it the whole debt is now settled

The date was from 2010-2015 when they sold the debt on, which we weren't told. Then pra but the same default on after the debt got paid in feb this year.
the only way we found out he had any defaults was getting declined for a mortgage

        If I understand you correctly
MBNA defaulted your husband when he was on reduced payments. The default date was sometime between 2010 and 2015.
At some point PRA bought the debt but didn't tell you.

When you found out you cleared the whole balance. You now owe nothing.

The default date should be the same as the one MBNA used and 6 years after it appeared it will vanish forever.

If PRA used a different date this can be queried and challenged with PRA.
One problem with clearscore is they don't show default dates but noddle do.

I periodically save a copy just in case an old one pops back up again.

But have been advised by a couple of people that 2 defaults for the Same debt shouldn't have been submitted, so realistically pra shouldn't have put the default on at all, which would have meant with mbna taking there default notice off, he would be left with no defaults.
also pra had told my husband if mbna had taken there notice off they didn't see why they couldn't also. Then came back and said mbna only removed it because of a goodwill gesture

When a debt is sold the original owner should mark it as settled although it will still show. The new owner then shows it as owing but with the same default date.

From what you say I can't see anything wrong, one active accurate default from the current owners

            Sorry

BTW they will all come off in time. Mine did
