Re: Help needed regarding council tax fraud ??
Ok firstly thanks I was taken to court last year for an alleged 1994.00 council tax bill dating back to 2010 firstly I didn't agree I owed cause if I've ever paid towards in the past it was £1.16 a week so it would take a lot to accrue this but mainly I had never seen the original 2014 summons they claim to of sent the court costs on the latest summons were set at £70 how how ever after the court date about 2 month later the original bill turned up unopened in a box of stuff in my sons room it must of worked its way there somehow I don't know but I opened it and to my amazement it was the original from 2014 the court costs were £240!! And the first amount on my bill was 300 and something pound on my newest one that £240 had dissapeared and the first amount almost doubled once I deducted £240 off it the amount was the same as on my original bill? Meaning they have added those costs into my bill? Is this correct procedure?? Please

Re: Help needed regarding council tax fraud ??
What you are saying does not make a lot of sense at present.
How many different Liability Orders are there?
How much is each one for?
What dates do each cover?
Basically if you fail to pay they will go to Court to obtain a Liability Order to which they can add costs. Some do this as 2 step process meaning they will add 1 lot of costs when they issue the summons and another lot if the get a Liability Order. The Council should be able to provide all the figures you need.
