Hi there,, just a general question.. Is legal aid still available?? How can you get representation if your income is low? Will some solicitors give free 1st consultations? And if the answer to that last question is yes,, how do I find them? Im in need of some legal advice after trying to fight a large housing company for 3 years now, getting nowhere so could do with some support. Many thanks for any advice :-)

Re: Is legal Aid still available?
You can check if you're eligible for legal aid here - https://www.gov.uk/check-legal-aid
we have a lot of law firms on our sister site LB Compare ... you might find someone on thereDebt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.
It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

Before splashing out on solicitors why don't you follow their formal complaints procedure to see where that leads. I believe RCT Homes changed their name to Trivallis and this is their complaints procedure > https://www.trivallis.co.uk/customer-services-
If you're not satisfied with their Final Response then refer your complaint to the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales here > http://www.ombudsman-wales.org.uk/en...complaint.aspx
Or do you have a new issue which needs resolving ?

Re: Is legal Aid still available?
Hi there Diana M,, TY for replying to my thread, and yes it is the asbestos removal I am still having problems with. I have contacted the companies involved on many occasions, via phone (nobody will take my calls), E-mail's and written letters. Nobody will reply to me or answer any of my questions. Trivalllis then instructed a solicitor to contact me to ask me to stop contacting them,,, I responded to solicitors letter via E-mail and written letter and they did not reply. I then contacted the Ombudsman via the computerised procedure... They acknowledged my complaint,, contacted ONLY Trivallis and decided they could take it no further. Its an absolute sham. I spent a whole year requesting a report on the asbestos readings and the removal,, once I had this I never heard from Trivallis again.
