I have recently VT my Bmw 1 series and i have read through numerous threads on advice to do VT. I have used the template letters which were provide on this forum. I have had my car collected and i have not signed any forms they have sent me nor have i signed the inspection report. My car was not collected on the day it was inspected and it took over a week to be collected which i was not present when my car was collected. I did not hear from Bmw for over 4 weeks since my car was collected. They contacted me via phone explaining they did not agree fully with my report of damages and they have reduce the amount to them from £970 to £570. They are trying to charge me for all four of my alloys are scratched exceeding 50mm and my headlight is scuffed and they are charging me a replacement of £230. They are also charging me with exceeding my pro rota milage which is £50. I have sent them letters from the template on the other threads on this forum of exceeding milage and fair wear and tear. they have responded with me a final response letter stating they are in the right to charge me for excess milage and the damage on my car exceeds BVRLA guidelines. They also say that if i would like to take this to FOS. My question to you is as i haven't signed anything and from reading the threads on this forum what do i need to do next to end this case? From reading my contract it does state they can charge me for excess milage and the damage that exceeds fair wear and tear. What is the next step for me and am i doing VT correct ??? Thanks

Re: VT to Bmw advice please!!
Morning, take a read of the link below

Once you have read it, the question you then ask whether you want to pay up or not. BMW are known for issuing a default if you fail to pay - your only recourse is to take them to court for damages and remove the default if the damages are not justified. Certainly the excess mileage charges are not justified. If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
